Strategic Plan Comment Form Introduction

The Bureau of Women’s and Children’s Health (BWCH) would like your feedback on our Strategic Plan for 2006 - 2010.  The Plan was developed after BWCH conducted the 2005 Title V Maternal and Child Health Block Grant Needs Assess and provides the Bureau with direction through 2010.  The needs assessment process used to create this plan included gathering and analyzing data on various maternal and child health issues, gathering input from partners, setting priorities, and defining performance measures. Factors considered in setting priorities included:

• Community perception/stakeholder input
• Size of the problem: number of people affected directly or indirectly
• Seriousness: urgency, severity, economic loss, potential impact on the population
• Interventions: availability and effectiveness
• Availability of resources

This strategic plan sets direction for BWCH to take action on the new priorities
established through the needs assessment process. The new priorities and
strategies in the plan were created to address three overarching goals:

• Reduce mortality and morbidity among women and children
• Eliminate health disparities in health outcomes and access to services
• Increase access to health care

As part of our effort to ensure that the work we do continues to be responsive to the needs of women and children of Arizona , we are asking for your feedback on our strategic plan.   We are asking that you:
